These three lipsticks that I’m about to share with you are my most loved lipsticks. These are the three that I always reach for and can wear in any season. My favourite way to wear them is blended out for a more natural, lip stained look. I particularly find myself reaching for Rosie For Autograph’s Silk Rose which is the perfect dupe for Charlotte Tilbury’s Bond Girl – swatch comparisons are further down!
BOBBI BROWN: Rich Lip Colour in Guava
Pigmented, lightweight and creamy – this lipstick is so easy to throw on. Part of Bobbi Brown’s Rich Lip Colour range, this lipstick has SPF 12 and you only need one swipe to get great colour payoff. Guava is a bright pink-coral which is perfect for spring and summer! A semi-matte shade, Guava brightens up the face and is very comfortable to wear. It’s the type of shade that makes me think of white dresses, sun hats and the beach (does anyone else plan outfits around a statement lip colour?).
ROSIE FOR AUTOGRAPH: Silk Rose
The most natural shade out of the three, Silk Rose is part of the Rosie for Autograph makeup collection by Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, available at Marks & Spencer (they ship to New Zealand). The packaging for this lipstick is amazing – rose gold and has a magnetic closure! Silk Rose is hydrating, feels very soft on the lips and is a perfect dupe for Charlotte Tilbury’s lipstick in the shade Bond Girl!!
One of Hourglass’s Femme Rouge Velvet Crème lipsticks, Nocturnal is a beautiful deep raspberry shade. It is opaque, with a subtle sheen, and very long wearing. Nocturnal looks beautiful when lightly applied, but can very easily be built up – this is the type of shade that transitions really well from day to night!
All three of these lip colours are very opaque, as you can see in the first set of swatches, but I actually don’t like to wear them like this. I prefer to dab the lip colour out so that it looks more natural – more of a tint, or wash of colour. The lipsticks are still very long wearing when dabbed out like this and I much prefer this subtle look!
